Clear Set Object Cast Resin Stool (30cm) by Giant Sculptures, four-legged design embedding pink, red and yellow small objects, shown against a plain white background.
Clear Set Object Cast Resin Stool - 30cm $3,37500
Description

This clear resin stool holds hundreds of small objects in its body: hair clips, bows, buttons, beads, sequins and small metal findings in pinks, reds and yellows. They run through the seat and down every leg and stretcher, so the piece is read as a solid mass of them rather than as a surface with things on it. No two castings hold the same arrangement.

Hundreds of Small Objects Held in the Body

The objects are placed by hand through the depth of the mould, not stirred in, so they hold their positions in the seat and down each leg instead of settling to the bottom. The material is then brought up around them in stages, which is the slow part: each pour has to take without trapping air against a hard edge, and a bubble beside a bright object reads as a blemish. Every face is polished afterwards from a coarse grade to a full gloss, including the inner faces of the stretchers, and the feet are ground flat and levelled as a set so the stool stands true.

At 30cm it sits low enough to serve as a child's seat or a step, or as a surface beside a low chair. The inclusions are read from close up rather than across a room, so gains from being where people pass it. It is heavier than its size suggests, being solid throughout, which makes it stable under a child and slow to move around.

The Inclusions, the Filled Legs, and Ordering a Pair

As standard the build runs 3–4 weeks, and as a bespoke commission 5–6. Its three open properties are yours. What goes into the body can be specified, and it can be kept to one colour family or one kind of object rather than the mixture shown in stock. You name the stool width and the inclusion depth. Several ordered together are worked so that the mix of the inclusions agrees. It ships with the seat face and the four filled legs protected and wants one person to position it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Hundreds of small objects frozen in a clear stool give our art furniture a seat for a child; the casting sits with our resin sculptures, a playroom with our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
