Upright on its haunches with both ears held apart and standing well clear above the head, the rabbit in this cast resin sculpture brings its forepaws together in front of the chest. Everything is colourless and polished, so the piece has no colour of its own and takes whatever is around it. The body is a single smooth mass with no fur worked into it, and the ears are two thin blades.
The ears are the whole piece as far as the making is concerned. They are thin, they are long, and they are the two elements a clear casting is least likely to come out of the mould with, so each is checked against the light before anything else is done and a casting with any cloud in an ear goes no further. Finishing them is slow because both faces of each ear are visible at once and they must match in polish, or one ear reads brighter than the other and the animal looks lopsided. The body is the opposite problem: a large clear volume with no detail on it shows every flat spot as a break in the reflection, so it is taken down with abrasives that bend to the form instead of cutting across it, through five grades before the polish.
At 63cm it is a floor piece beside a chair or a table piece in a large room, and it works in either as long as nothing stands directly behind the ears, which need clear space to be read as separate. It is one of the few pieces improved by a busy background: a colourless animal in front of books or a patterned wall picks up the pattern and becomes part of it. On a plain surface in a plain room it can vanish, so give it something to reflect.
Time separates the two: a bespoke commission takes 5–6 weeks, a standard piece 3–4. Any scale from a table piece to this floor size can be cut to order. A tint runs through the body in amber, smoke, green or a pale rose, and a frosted finish is offered where the polish is too bright. The ears can be set closer together or laid back along the body for a resting pose. It travels standing in a fitted crate with the ears cased individually, and two people should place it, taking the weight under the haunches and never by an ear. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A rabbit seated upright, paws held together, belongs with our rabbit and hare statues; a pair of tall ears over a smooth body lead to our figurative sculptures, and colourless polished resin joins our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
