The dragon in this cast resin sculpture sits upright on its haunches with both forelegs planted, a pair of horns above the brow, bulging eyes and a long beard falling from the jaw down onto the chest. Every surface below the head is covered in overlapping scales, cut in rows that follow the body round rather than running straight. It is colourless resin, polished throughout, and it stands on a small clear pad.
A continuous field of scales over a form that changes direction is the long job on this piece. The rows have to follow the body: where the chest turns into the shoulder they must swing round with it, and where the haunch swells they have to open out, or the field reads as a printed pattern laid over a shape instead of a skin belonging to it. That means the rows are set out on the finished form and cut afterwards, not laid on a grid. In clear resin each scale is also a small lens, so the underside of every overlap has to be polished or it goes grey, and there are several hundred of them. The horns and the beard are cut last, undercut clear of the head and the chest so they read as separate from the body.
A seated upright animal is met face on and this one is wider than it is tall, so it wants a broad surface at or below eye level: a hall chest, a console, the top of a low cabinet. It carries a lot of surface detail, so give it plain surroundings; against a busy background the scales turn into texture and the form is lost. Light from above and slightly to one side puts a shadow under every scale row and is what makes the field read at all. Put something dark behind it and the colourless body gains an outline.
Build times separate standard from bespoke: 3–4 weeks against 5–6. The scale field can be cut deeper for a stronger relief or shallower for a quieter piece, and the horns are made longer or swept back. Tints of amber, smoke, green and a deep red run through the resin, and leaf is offered in three metals, going into the scales, the horns or the beard alone. A frosted finish is offered in place of the polish. A second dragon facing the other way can be made where a pair is wanted, and this price is for one animal. Any scale is cut to order. One fitted crate holds it and there is nothing to assemble; lift it under the haunches rather than by a horn, and it is a one-person carry. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A seated dragon covered in scales belongs with our figurative sculptures; a beard falling from the jaw leads to our resin sculptures, and a dragon for a hall chest joins our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
