Clear Rounded Shell Low Cast Resin Armchair, 80cm, with curved back and arms on four legs, shown against a plain white background.
Clear Rounded Shell Low Cast Resin Armchair - 80cm $5,60200
Description

This armchair is a rounded shell of clear resin: the back curves round and wraps forward into the arms, and the seat is set deep between them. It stands on four upright legs that thin a little towards mid-height and swell again into rounded feet. The shell is thick enough to read as a solid body rather than a sheet, and every edge where a hand or an arm comes to rest is rounded over.

A Rounded Shell Over Four Upright Legs

The shell is formed as one body, back into arms into seat, and the wall is carried thick throughout rather than thinned at the rim, which is what gives it the weight it reads with. The legs are shaped by hand, narrowing at the knee and widening again at the floor, and each stands straight under the seat rather than raking outward. Every face is polished, the underside of the seat included, because a clear chair is looked at from below whenever anyone sits down beside it.

This is a lounge chair for a living room, a bedroom or a wide landing, and it sits below the eyeline of anyone standing, so it neither divides a room nor blocks the view across it. Its broad rounded feet sit steadily on a rug or a soft floor, and with a window behind it the shell shows as a bright outline.

Tint, the Rounded Feet, and What Arrives in the Crate

Once ordered, a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks and a bespoke one 5–6. The shaped legs are the slow part. There are three decisions. The resin can be tinted, the legs can be left straight and plain instead of shaped, and the shell can be brought further forward at the arms. You name the seat width and the back height. Chairs ordered at the same time have their legs shaped to match. The crate is built around the wrapped arms and the rounded feet, and four people should carry it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A rounded clear shell on four upright legs with swelling feet belongs with our contemporary and modern sculptures; its resin seat also suits our art furniture and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
