It is a dining chair in optically clear resin: a rounded high shell back with the arms wrapped forward at each side, a plain seat and four tapering legs. One material and one colour throughout, so nothing on the chair separates by tone and the form is read entirely through the light passing along it.
The shell is formed in one piece and no joint shows between the back, the arms and the seat, which puts the whole of the difficulty into the inside face: a continuous concave curve has no flat anywhere on it to work a polish from, so it is brought up in stages and judged against the light rather than against a straight edge. The four legs are worked back individually, and with no tint anywhere on the chair the eye reads the section of each one straight through, so any variation between them shows from across a room.
At 81cm to the top of the shell this is a dining chair and will run in to a table like any other. Colourless, it shows whatever the room puts behind it, so a deep floor or a saturated wall lends it a presence a pale room withholds, and several together make a row of shells running across the space.
Ordinarily a standard piece needs 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. Most of it is the shell back. Three things can change. A tint can be run through the resin where colourless is not wanted, the shell is drawn up higher at the back to order, and the arms can be opened out or closed in. The seat height and the shell height are named by you. Once the order is placed as one, the curve of the shell back is carried through it. Allow two people to move it. The shell runs into the four legs with no joint between them, so it arrives whole, and the crate is built to hold the shell rim and the leg ends off its walls. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A rounded clear shell reaching from the back into scrolled arms makes this dining chair one for our art furniture; its colourless form also suits our contemporary and modern sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
