A rock form worked into ice-like planes over its whole surface, with a small gilded bird set on one shoulder of it. Colourless through the whole mass, with a single gold bird on one shoulder as the only worked colour anywhere on it. A base of dark stone is supplied beneath the rock and carries it.
A gold bird on a clear rock is the only opaque thing in the piece, and it is there so that a colourless mass has one place the eye can settle. A rough colourless mass gives the eye nowhere to rest: every facet returns a little light and none of them is more important than the next. The bird is the answer to that, and it is the only opaque thing on the piece for exactly that reason. An ice-textured body in clear resin means the surface breaks the light into hundreds of small returns, and the polished bird is legible precisely because nothing around it is. The mass is worked rough over its whole face and the bird is polished, so the two extremes of the range sit side by side on one object.
A hall console or the top of a low cabinet, where the bird sits at about the height of a standing eye. Give it a pale ground, so the rough surface reads as texture and the gold reads as gold. Light from the side is what this wants. Light from in front turns the whole rough face into one flat glare. At a distance it is one pale mass with a single bright point on it, and the point is what brings you over.
Figure the difference between standard and bespoke at 3–4 weeks against 5–6. The bird can be left off, it can be finished in another metal colour, and the rock is made at other heights. Take the bird away and what is left is a study of surface, so the rock is redrawn to carry the whole interest on its own. Stone and casting share a crate, the base lifted out first and the rock set down onto it. Two people, and the bird is not a handle. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A clear rock with a gilded bird on its shoulder leads to our organic sculptures; the ice-textured mass belongs among our resin sculptures, and more with a single bright accent is in our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
