Clear Rippled Resin Table on Black Rock Bases, 245cm, by Giant Sculptures, with a clear wavy resin top on two black rock pedestals, shown on a plain white background.
Clear Rippled Resin Table on Black Rock Bases - 245cm $15,66100
Description

A table with a clear resin top, carried on two black rock pedestals. The whole upper face is worked into the surface of moving water, with long shallow crests running the length of it and finer ripples nearer the edges, and the perimeter is left irregular rather than cut true. Two black rock forms stand above that surface, one towards one end and one to the right of centre.

A Water Surface Carried at Counter Height

What the top does is hold two textures against each other. The resin is glossy and colourless through its full depth, so the crests catch and the troughs stay dark, and the pattern reorganises itself completely as you walk around the piece. The rock forms are the opposite in every respect: matt, dark, heavily broken, with no straight line on them. Set into a sheet of clear material they read as outcrops the water has risen around. The two pedestals below speak the same language at a bigger scale, wide where they meet the floor and drawing in as they rise, and they are not a matched pair. One is squarer in plan and one leans, so the table looks different from each of its four sides rather than presenting one correct view.

The height is what decides where this goes. It stands at kitchen counter height, so it serves as a drinks, buffet or display table and not as somewhere to seat a table of eight. Both pedestals are set well in from the ends, so the two ends will take a stool while the long sides give no knee room at all. It wants a walkway on every side, since against a wall the far half of the top and one entire pedestal stop being seen. Light from above or from one side is what makes the crests read. Indoor use only.

Two Pedestals, One Top, and How It Comes In

The standard build is 3–4 weeks and the bespoke build 5–6. The top and the pedestals are made as separate pieces and then matched to one another, and that matching is where the schedule goes. On the top: length and depth are made to the room, the number of rock forms breaking the face runs from none to three, and the resin can be tinted rather than left colourless, though a tint takes some of the contrast off the rock. On the rock: black is standard, with a mid grey and a warm brown both available. On the height: dining height or a true bar table are both possible, and the pedestals are drawn to whichever is chosen. It arrives as three items, two pedestals and a top, each crated on its own and each a two-person lift. The top is placed last and is held by its own weight, so there is no fixing and no adhesive. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Clear water over black rock puts this table among our art furniture; the clear rippled top is among our resin sculptures, and the rock pedestals our fibreglass sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
