Clear Rippled Oval Resin Dining Table, 200cm, with frosted acrylic blade legs and brass support rods, shown on a plain white background.
Clear Rippled Oval Resin Dining Table - 200cm $13,23100
Description

This dining table's oval top is clear resin rippled through its whole thickness, so the surface pattern carries down through the top and reads from underneath as well as from above. It stands on two ranks of pale frosted acrylic blades, set parallel and spaced apart, and slim brass rods pass through the blades at three heights to brace them against one another.

A Rippled Oval on Brass-Braced Acrylic Blades

The top and the base are deliberately opposite. The top is clear and busy, its ripples running in no single direction, so light coming through it lands broken; the blades below are frosted, plain and vertical, and they read as a quiet pale grid under all that movement. The rods are the only warm note on the piece and they show their ends on the outer faces of the outermost blades. The oval outline has no straight run anywhere, which is what stops the rectangular base grid looking like a mismatch under it.

Six to eight can sit round it at dining height, and with an oval plan nobody ends up at a corner. The blade ranks sit well in from the ends, so the end seats have clear floor. It is at its best where light comes from above and passes through the top onto the blades, which is worth arranging: a pendant over the centre does more for this table than a wall wash. The frosted base keeps a table this long from reading heavy in a room. Indoor use only.

Blade Rank, Brass Finish & Top Material

In the workshop a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. The base is specified by rank: two ranks as here, or three for a longer top, and the blade spacing set close for a denser grid or open for a lighter one. Rods are offered in brass, in polished stainless and in blackened steel, and the rod finish decides whether the base reads warm or cool under a clear top. The top itself is made in clear resin as here or in a solid acrylic, which is flatter in appearance and takes a knock better; the resin version holds the deeper ripple. Length is made to order on the same oval plan. Top and base travel separately in one case, the blades are assembled with the rods drawn through on site, and the oval is lowered on square by four people once every blade is seated fully home. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Frosted acrylic blades braced with brass hold up this table, which is why it appears among our acrylic sculptures; as a dining piece it joins our art furniture, and its rippled top our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
