Clear Rippled Edge Acrylic Slab Bench on Metal Legs - 120cm
Clear Rippled Edge Acrylic Slab Bench on Metal Legs - 120cm $7,88500
Description

A bench made of a solid slab of clear acrylic, its long top edge worked into ripples like the surface of water and its ends rippled too, raised on a frame of mirror-polished metal: a rail beneath the slab and a leg dropping from it at either end. From the side it is a bar of clear water; from above, its rippled edge catches the light.

A Slab of Clear Water to Sit On

A slab this thick is a block of light, and the ripples cut into its edge are what make it read as water rather than glass. The top is left flat for sitting and the edges are rippled and polished, so light runs along them in bright lines. The frame is plain and polished to a mirror, so it reflects the floor and seems to disappear, and the slab appears to float above it. It is simple, solid and unexpectedly striking, and it seats two comfortably.

It suits a hall, a landing, a gallery, the foot of a bed or a bay window, anywhere a bench is wanted that is also a sculpture. Light has to pass through it to show the ripples, so a place by a window suits it. On a dark floor the clear slab glows. It is a quiet piece and works in a modern or a classic interior.

Length, Edge and Lifting It

A standard piece takes 3–4 weeks to make, and a bespoke commission 5–6. The bench can be made to another length or height, the edge can be rippled more deeply or left straight, and the frame can be given a brushed, a brass-toned or a black finish. A black frame makes the slab stand out even more, and a brass-toned one warms it. It is heavy for its size, being solid, and takes two people to lift, one at each end of the slab. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A rippled slab of clear acrylic on a polished frame, this bench sits with our art furniture, our acrylic sculptures and our metal sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
