Clear Mirror Polished Boulder Cast Resin Low Table, 135cm, a flattened organic form with a slightly dished top, shown on a plain light grey background.
Clear Mirror Polished Boulder Cast Resin Low Table - 135cm $18,76600
Description

One solid mass of clear resin, mirror polished over every face, cast as a flattened boulder with a soft irregular outline and a top that dishes very slightly towards the middle. It sits straight on the floor with no legs and no base under it, and there is nothing else to the piece at all.

One Mass, Mirror Polished All Over

A mass this size is polished rather than cast to a finish: the whole outside is ground back from the raw casting and taken up through the grades to a mirror on every face, and on a form with no flats and no straight lines that is done by hand throughout. The dish in the top is worked in at the end so it holds its sweep without a flat spot. Solid resin at this volume also takes a long cure, and the cure is what sets the lead time. The underside is polished to the same grade as the top, because a clear mass standing straight on the floor shows the floor through itself.

Wide and close to the floor, this table belongs where sofas and chairs gather round, and the faint dish in its top stops a tray or a pile of books from creeping off to one side. It has no legs, so it needs a level hard floor rather than a rug, and it is very heavy: decide the position before it is brought in.

The Polish, the Outline, and Moving a Solid Boulder

Whether it is standard or bespoke sets the build: 3–4 weeks or 5–6. The mirror polish is what fills the time. Three aspects can be specified. The outline is drawn to order, the dish in the top can be deepened or brought flat, and a tint can be run through the whole mass. Boulder span and floor to top are settled at order. Where two or more are wanted, the outline of the boulder is held the same across the group. The packing is designed round the mirror faces and the dished top; allow four people on arrival. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A single mirror-bright mass with no legs sits well with our contemporary and modern sculptures; it does the work of a low table in our art furniture, and belongs with our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
