Clear Lowered-Head Doe Cast Resin Sculpture, 63cm, side view with head bowed to the ground, on a plain white background.
Clear Lowered-Head Doe Cast Resin Sculpture - 63cm $4,79200
Description

This cast resin sculpture is a doe, not a stag: there are no antlers at all, and the head is lowered to the floor. Taking the antlers off does more than remove a detail - it takes away the widest part of the animal and the part that usually carries the eye, so what is left to read is the line of the back and the length of the neck. The resin is left colourless throughout, from the ears down to the four hooves.

A Doe, and What Comes Off With the Antlers

A doe is the harder animal to make convincing, precisely because there is no antler to look at. Everything rests on the anatomy: the set of the ears, the taper of the muzzle, the way the shoulder rises out of the neck. A stag with a fine rack can carry a soft shoulder and nobody notices; a doe cannot. The head is therefore finished after the body and taken to a higher polish. The four hooves are ground flat on one plane together, so she stands square on any level surface.

A lowered head reads as quiet, and at 63cm the animal sits on a console, a chest or the top of a cupboard instead of the floor - it is small enough to be looked down at, which is how a grazing animal wants to be seen. It also works as the second animal beside a full-grown stag, where the difference in height and the absent antlers do the composition. A dark surface underneath separates the colourless legs from their reflection.

Head Angle, Tint and Ordering It Beside a Stag

Order a standard piece and it takes 3–4 weeks; order it bespoke and it takes 5–6. Head angle is set at order and takes the doe from this full lowering to an alert lift, which changes the piece from grazing to watchful. The resin will take a tint through its whole thickness: smoke, amber or green. Size is cut to order, and a doe ordered with a stag is scheduled in one lot so the two match in finish. She travels boxed as a one-person carry. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A doe with her head lowered to graze belongs with our deer statues; a body without antlers leads to our figurative sculptures, and one colourless casting joins our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
