Clear Leaf Top Spiral Ribbed Pedestal Dining Table - 120cm $12,62300
Description

The top of this dining table is cast as a broad leaf of clear resin, its veins spreading from a point off the centre to a scalloped, uneven rim, and the sheet rises and dips along them. It stands on a matt black waisted pedestal whose fine ribs spiral as they flare out to a round foot.

A Leaf Top on a Spiral Ribbed Pedestal

The veins are worked into the mould itself, spreading from a point that sits away from the middle, which leaves the top deliberately lopsided and different to look at from each side. The scalloped rim is left exactly as the mould released it, with no work taken to the edge afterwards. The pedestal's ribs are spiralled rather than run straight down the flare, which means the pitch has to hold as the section turns and widens at the same time - the hardest part of the base - and it is finished matt so it takes no reflection off the top. The pedestal is faced flat where the top beds on it, across the whole diameter rather than on a rim.

This is a round dining table, and a circle takes an odd number at a meal more easily than a rectangle does. The veins radiate from off centre, so it is worth deciding which side faces the room. The pedestal leaves the floor clear right up to the foot, so chairs come in from any side without meeting a leg.

The Veins, the Spiral, and the Black Pedestal

Making a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks, and making a bespoke one 5–6. Most of it is the spiral ribbing. Three things can change. The vein count is open, the spiral pitch is drawn to order or run straight instead, and the pedestal is offered in a polished metal rather than matt black. The top diameter and the pedestal height are named by you. Both pieces of a pair share the reach of the veins when they are ordered together. The scalloped rim and the pedestal foot are padded before the lid goes on, the top and the pedestal travel in separate crates, and four people set it down. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A matt black pedestal ribbed in a spiral ties this dining table to our stainless steel sculptures and our metal sculptures, while its veined leaf of a top seats it among our art furniture.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
