A clear acrylic crescent built up from many thin sheets, so that its curve climbs in fine terraces to two points, one rising far above the other, each sheet cut to its own profile and every cut edge polished. It stands at the centre on a long stainless steel base, polished along its sides, its black top inlaid with fine gold-toned lines.
Building a curve from flat layers means every edge is a step, and the steps are the beauty of it: seen from a distance the crescent is a smooth sweep, but close to it is made of many fine terraces, each catching light along its cut edge. The layers are aligned so that the stepping runs evenly from the centre to both tips, and the two points are set at very different heights, one climbing well clear of the other, which keeps the crescent from being mechanical. The polished steel base is long and slim, a line under the curve.
It suits a gallery, a reception, an office or a large living room, on a wide console or a platform, or on the floor, where it is seen from the front. Give it a dark ground, since against black or charcoal each layered edge shines as a line of light. Light it from above and slightly to one side so every step catches.
Our workshops take 3–4 weeks over a standard piece and 5–6 over a bespoke commission. Tinted layers are possible, blue, amber or smoke, as is a gradation from clear into colour, and so is a longer or more compact crescent. A graded tint makes it read like a sunset horizon, and a smoke tint gives a darker, more graphic line. The base can also be finished in black. Set the base level first, then stand the crescent on its centre, taking it by the body and never by either point. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A crescent of stepped clear layers on a long steel base, it belongs with our acrylic sculptures, our stainless steel sculptures and our geometric sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.
Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
