Clear Ice Form Four Column Resin Stool (45cm) by Giant Sculptures, four textured columns supporting a flat top, shown on a plain white background.
Clear Ice Form Four Column Resin Stool - 45cm $3,44200
Description

This four-column stool is cast in clear resin worked to a rough ice texture, and it is blocky through the middle: four columns stand under the top and the voids between them are narrow, so more of the mass reads as solid than as opening. Nothing on it is polished smooth, so it refracts the light rather than reflecting it.

A Fourth Column and What It Closes Up

Four columns make for a slow casting. The material has to reach four narrow sections and the voids between them are tight, so the fill takes time and the finishing inside each opening is done with a fine tool. Each column is modelled by hand, so the ice texture falls differently on every piece, and the rough top is left unpolished like the rest of the stool. The base is left continuous, so the four columns read as one mass that has been opened rather than four legs put under a top.

At 45cm it comes to seat height and takes an adult, and its weight of form lets it hold a corner where a slighter piece would look thin. It suits a hall, a bathroom or the end of a run of seating, and it wants a floor it can be seen against rather than a pale carpet that will swallow the texture.

The Column Count, the Base, and the Order

Production takes approximately 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. The column arrangement is the slow part. There are three decisions. The column count can be taken to five, the texture can be worked coarser or eased back, and the resin is offered tinted. Neither the top span nor the column height is fixed. Where two or more are wanted, the depth of the texture between the columns is held the same across the group. Packed with the rough top rim and the four column tops shielded, it needs one person at the door. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Ice opened into four rough columns gives our art furniture a solid stool; the rough-cast idiom suits our contemporary and modern sculptures, and a hall or bathroom among our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
