Description

A clear acrylic armchair built on the horseshoe-back form, with its crest rail in a strong red. The rail sweeps from one arm round the back to the other in a single curve, a broad clear splat rises from the seat to meet it at the centre, and four slim legs carry the shallow dished seat. Apart from the rail, every part is colourless.

A Red Sweep Over One Broad Clear Splat

Red is a harder colour to carry on a single member than black, because every flaw in the curve shows as a change in the strength of the colour. The rail is bent to its curve in one heat on a jig and brought up to an even gloss along its whole length, so the red reads as one stroke. The splat is cut wide and kept plain, a single clear panel whose edges catch the light, and it gives the back a quiet centre for the red to sweep round. The legs and seat are left as fine and as clear as the form allows.

With so little of it solid, the chair fits into a furnished room without crowding it, at a writing table, in a bedroom corner or as one bright chair among others at a long table. The red crest is what reads from across the room, so set it against a pale wall where that one line has something to stand out from.

The Red Rail, the Splat and Ordering Pairs

Allow 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. The rail can be made in another colour, deep green, navy or gold among them, and the splat cut with a pattern or left plain. Chairs are sold one at a time, and a pair simply means ordering two. It travels assembled, in a carton shaped to the chair with the rail sleeved against scuffs, and a single carrier can manage it. The seat can be dished more deeply or left flat. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A single red sweep across the back belongs with our acrylic sculptures; a broad clear splat under the crest leads to our indoor sculptures, and a bright chair for a writing table joins our art furniture.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
