Clear Herbarium Specimen Square Tile Resin Sculpture - 23cm
Clear Herbarium Specimen Square Tile Resin Sculpture - 23cm $1,55100
Description

This flat, square tile of high-clarity resin holds a single pressed plant specimen at its centre, mounted like a sheet in a botanist's collection with a wide clear margin all round. The specimen may be a leafy sprig, a grass head, a small whole plant with its fine roots or a scattering of seeds, and it lies pressed flat so its outline reads cleanly from above. Thick, polished edges frame the tile and catch reflections of the plant along each side.

One Pressed Plant on a Square of Clear

High-clarity resin gives the tile its depth, and its broad top is polished to a glassy finish that reflects the room, while the thick, squared edges gleam like the rim of an ice block. Pressed thin, the specimen keeps every vein, root hair and seed husk sharp, and its greens, browns and near-blacks stand out against whatever pale surface it rests on. Every tile holds a natural specimen of its own, so its plant and its shape will differ from one tile to the next, and yours will be unique.

Lying flat, it makes an absorbing object for a desk, a coffee table or a low bookshelf, where it can be picked up, turned to the window and examined closely. On a pale desk top the specimen stands out crisply, and side light from a window picks out the texture of every leaf. It suits a study, a library corner or a garden room equally well. Indoor use only.

A Single Tile, Made to Order and Shipped

Build times separate standard from bespoke: 3–4 weeks against 5–6. You are buying one tile, sold individually. Made as a bespoke commission, the tile can carry a plant or flower chosen with you, and it can be made deeper, at another size or as a rectangle to suit a longer specimen. A faint tint in the resin or a frosted back can be chosen to change its mood. It is boxed flat with its corners cushioned, and it arrives ready to go straight onto a desk or a shelf. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A single pressed plant kept in clear resin like a page from a field notebook joins our resin sculptures, our abstract sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
