This cast resin sculpture is the same crouching animal as the block-mounted version, at about twice the size and set straight down on whatever it is put on. The shoulders are up, the head is down and forward, and the chest hangs low between the front legs. Everything is optically clear and polished, with no leaf and no tint, so the animal is read entirely as a set of surfaces catching light.
Taking the block away changes what has to be finished. On the mounted version the underside of the chest sits close to its block and is never properly seen; here it is clear of the floor, in the open, and visible from any low angle, so it is worked and polished to the same grade as the flank instead of being left as a bearing surface. The four feet also stop being a mounting problem and become the only contact: they are ground flat against a reference plate so the animal sits without a rock on a hard surface, and the pads are cut in rather than smoothed over, because at this size a bare foot looks unfinished. And doubling the size doubles the clarity problem - twice the thickness of clear resin shows half as much again of any cloud.
Without a block it reads as a creature that belongs in the room rather than a piece displayed on a stand, so the floor suits it: next to a chair, under a bookcase, or on a hearth. It is also the one piece in this family that can go on a rug, where the mounted versions would look stranded. Side light or window light suits it; a ceiling spot does not. On a dark floor the outline separates and the polish reads as highlights; on a pale one the whole animal softens.
Reckon on 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke one. A stone or timber block can be added under it and the feet are then pinned rather than ground, which is a different object and is made to order. Tints of amber, grey and green run through the resin, leaf in any of the three metals can be worked into the casting, and a frosted finish is offered instead of the polish. The standing, sitting and glancing dogs can be made at this bare size to match. Scale is open in both directions. It arrives in a fitted crate with nothing to put together and is a one-person lift taken under the body, not under the head. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A dog crouching low with no block beneath it belongs with our animal sculptures; a head carried down and forward leads to our figurative sculptures, and clear resin left bare of leaf joins our resin sculptures.

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
