Clear Grazing Hind with Suspended Leaves - 106cm, a clear resin deer sculpture with head lowered, dried leaves and twigs embedded throughout, on a plain white background.
Clear Grazing Hind with Suspended Leaves - 106cm $14,78300
Description

A hind with her head right down and the muzzle almost on the ground. Because the neck goes down rather than up, the whole animal reads as one arch: the line starts at the haunch, rises over the shoulder and comes down the neck to the nose without a break anywhere. Dried leaves and fine twigs are held in the clear resin, spread through the neck, the barrel and the haunch and running down into the legs. There are no antlers, and the legs are cut fine.

An Arch From Haunch to Muzzle

An arch is the least forgiving line in an animal, because the eye follows it in one movement and stops at the first place it changes rate. It runs here across four separate passages - haunch, back, shoulder, neck - so those are worked as one surface rather than four, with the animal on its side and the line sighted along from the tail. The leaves have to serve that. They are spread along the line of the arch rather than across it, down the neck and over the back, which means they are laid before the neck is taken to its final section.

The whole animal is read along its length, so a long run of floor is what it wants: an open middle, a landing, a conservatory, the front of a window. Nothing should stand where the muzzle points; that space is the grass she is reaching for. Light from the side or from behind sets the leaves glowing through the barrel; a downlight lands on the arch and puts everything under it in shadow, which loses the whole line.

The Leaf, the Pose and What Arrives

Figure the difference between standard and bespoke at 3–4 weeks against 5–6. Whether she grazes as here or lifts her muzzle is chosen at order, and the same body can be given a rack as a stag. The leaves can be spread thinner, kept to the body or left out for a plain clear animal, and the resin can take an amber, smoke or green tint. A standing hind can be made to set beside her. It arrives upright in one crate with the legs braced and nothing to assemble; hands under the barrel, and never under the neck. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A grazing hind with twigs caught inside her belongs with our deer statues; one arch running from the haunch to the muzzle tip leads to our animal sculptures, and leaves and twigs sealed in a clear body join our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
