This cast resin sculpture of a deer is not standing to attention. Its head is down at the floor as though feeding, and the muzzle finishes below the line of its own front knees, which puts the longest part of the animal along the ground rather than up in the air. It is optically clear resin throughout, legs included, with no base and no plinth under it. Seen from the side the neck and back make one continuous fall from the rump to the nose.
A grazing pose puts the mass in the wrong place for a casting. Most of the weight ends up forward of the front legs, so the animal wants to tip on its nose, and the correction is made in the section rather than in a hidden weight: the haunches are left heavier and the neck is thinned toward the muzzle until the piece stands on its own four feet. Clear resin makes that visible, since a wall that changes thickness changes colour, and the change has to be gradual enough to read as anatomy. The four feet are then ground flat together on one plane, because a deer standing on three of four legs is the fault everybody notices and nobody can unsee.
A head-down animal reads as calm where a head-up one reads as alert, so this suits a room people sit in rather than one they pass through. It wants a hard level surface: the four feet are small and a soft pile lets one of them sink until the piece leans. Set it broadside on and give it space in front of the muzzle, since the head is the part that reaches out. Light from above finds the line of the back; light from the side finds the legs.
Most pieces are standard and take 3–4 weeks; a bespoke commission takes 5–6. The neck angle is set at order, from this full graze to a half-raised head, and it changes the footprint as much as the mood. A tint can be run through the body in a smoke, an amber, a green or a soft blue, and the animal is offered frosted rather than polished. Size is cut to order. A stone or timber block can be added under the feet where the floor is uneven. Delivery is a single fitted crate, the animal on its side with the neck supported, and one person can take it out. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A deer feeding with its nose below its knees belongs with our deer statues; one unbroken fall from rump to nose leads to our figurative sculptures, and clear resin run through the legs joins our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
