Description

A low, wide block of crystal-clear resin holds an ornate lidded metal vessel, polished to a warm gold tone. A domed lid, worked with raised decoration and topped by a small knob finial, sits over a broad, flat rim. Below it the rounded bowl carries two small round studs with a ring handle hanging from them, and the vessel stands in a wide, shallow dish above a stepped round foot. The clear resin lets every curve and reflection of the metal be seen from the front, the sides and above.

An Ornate Gold-Toned Vessel Held in Clear

Crystal-clear resin forms the block, its faces polished flat and its edges kept square, and it is clear enough for the vessel to be read in full from any side. The metal is bright and reflective, so it picks up the colours of the room and throws small highlights across the faces as you move around it. The raised decoration on the lid, the curve of the rim and the ring of the handle all keep their crisp edges, and the stepped foot sits low in the block, giving the vessel a steady, level stance within the clear.

Low and wide, it suits a coffee table, a desk or a sideboard, where it can be looked down on as well as seen from the side, and it makes a striking piece on a bookshelf or in a glass-fronted cabinet. A dark surface beneath it deepens the gold, and a lamp close by sets the metal glinting. Indoor use only.

The Vessel Block, Made and Delivered

Set aside 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. Each order is for one block, sold individually. As a bespoke commission it can hold another object chosen with you, the block can be cut to a different proportion or size, and the resin can carry a faint tint of smoke or amber. Foam lines the fitted box it travels in; lift it out with both palms flat beneath it rather than gripping it by one corner. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
