Clear Glass Top Acrylic Slat Leg Low Table (160cm) with chamfered glass top and bundled upright acrylic slat legs, shown on a plain white background.
Clear Glass Top Acrylic Slat Leg Low Table - 160cm $11,27000
Description

This low table has a long top of thick clear glass, with a chamfer worked right round its edge so the rim catches light as a bright line. It rests on two legs, and each leg is not a panel but a bundle: a row of upright acrylic slats standing side by side with air between them, pinned through near the top and near the foot with bolts left visible.

Legs Built From Bundles of Upright Slats

A bundle of separate slats has to behave as one leg without being made into one. Each slat is cut to the same length and polished along every one of its edges, because in a bundle you see the edges of every slat at once and one dull edge reads as a fault. The bolts are what turn the row into a structure, and they are left on show rather than counterbored, which means their heads are part of the design and have to line up across the bundle. Spacing is the last decision: too close and the leg reads as a solid panel with lines on it, too open and it reads as a stack of loose pieces. Every bundle is set up and pinned by hand.

Standing at a middle height, it is useful behind a low sofa, under a window, or as a serving surface along a wall. The slatted legs read as a row of vertical lines from the front and almost vanish from the end, so the approach changes the piece completely. Put it where light can pass through the legs: with a window behind, each slat separates; against a dark wall the bundle closes up into a block.

Slat Count, Bolt Finish and a Three-Part Delivery

Ours is a 3–4 week build as standard, and a 5–6 week build when the commission is bespoke. Slat count and spacing are both set at order, and a wider bundle can be specified for a longer top. Bolts are available in a darker or brighter finish. The glass can be tinted or frosted, and the chamfer taken wider for a heavier rim. Length is cut to order. Top and both legs travel as three items, and the glass goes on last, on site, so the table never has to be carried up a stair in one piece. Each leg is a one-person carry. The glass wants two people and suction pads rather than hands at the edge. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Slats bundled with air between them sit with our acrylic sculptures; a long glass top chamfered all round leads to our geometric sculptures, and a serving surface behind a low sofa joins our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
