This resin sculpture is only half an animal, deliberately. A giraffe's head, with its two short ossicones and its long muzzle, sits at the top of a long neck; below that the body is not modelled at all but breaks into a rough mass of cut facets that reaches the floor. The head and neck are smooth and polished, the mass below is faceted and matt, and the change between them happens over a few centimetres. All of it is clear resin.
Two finishes on one piece means the boundary is the whole job. Where the polished neck meets the faceted mass there is no join and no line, so the transition is cut by taking the facets progressively shallower until they disappear into the polish, and it is done freehand, because a set-out transition looks ruled. The neck is the structural part. It is a long run of unsupported material carrying a head at the top, so the section at the base is set by what it has to hold and then hidden inside the swell where the neck meets the mass, which is the only place on the piece where extra material is invisible.
At 134cm this is a floor piece and it is read from the front, where the head is at the top of a vertical line: a hall, a landing, an alcove, the corner of a large room. It needs a plain wall behind it, because the faceted mass reads as a texture and a patterned wall competes with it. Light from one side does the most: the facets each take a different value and the polished neck picks up a single highlight. From above, the whole piece goes flat.
Set aside 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. How much of the animal is modelled is settled at order, from this head and neck to a fuller body still rising out of the mass. The resin takes an amber, a smoke or a green, and the faceted section can be left rough as here or polished to match the neck. Sizes run from a table piece up to a full standing giraffe. It arrives in one crate upright, with the head cased separately and the mass packed on its own base; take the weight at the mass and never by the neck. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A giraffe's head lifted out of faceted ice belongs with our giraffe statues; a body left as cut facets leads to our abstract sculptures, and half an animal, made so deliberately, joins our animal sculptures.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
