The horse in this cast resin sculpture is at full stretch, forelegs reaching forward and hind legs driving back, and it seems to skim the ground rather than stand on it. Along the ground beneath it runs a low mound of the same clear material worked as tufts of grass, and every hoof that carries weight comes down onto a tuft rather than onto a flat base, while the tail streams free behind. Everything is colourless, and the grass is left rough while the animal is polished.
A galloping animal is not a standing one with the legs moved. The whole body has to be believable in the air, which means the reach of the forelegs, the angle of the neck and the line of the back are set against each other rather than each being right on its own, and it is the sort of thing that only shows when the piece is finished and stood up. The grass is what makes the pose possible at all: its tufts rise to meet the hooves, so the animal is carried at full stretch without a post under its belly, and each tuft is shaped to read as grass right up to the hoof rather than as a support. Clear legs at full extension are the fussiest part of the polish, since a scratch on a slim clear section reads as a white line, and each leg is finished on its own before the body is taken to its final grade.
This one is going somewhere and it should be pointed at open space, not at a wall, so the end of a room, the head of a table or a wide windowsill suits it better than a shelf between books. It reaches sideways well past its own height, so allow the length rather than the footprint. Behind glass or in front of a window it is at its best: the colourless body turns into a bright outline and the rough grass stays solid. A dark surface underneath separates the two.
Most pieces are standard and take 3–4 weeks; a bespoke commission takes 5–6. The tufts can be built up into a deeper bank or kept to a low pad, and a plain block can carry the horse instead. The whole piece can be tinted amber or smoke, or the grass alone coloured while the horse stays clear. Frosting either part is offered and scale is cut to order. It ships in one fitted crate and needs two people, lifting under the barrel and the base rather than by a leg. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A horse at full gallop over tufts of grass belongs with our horse sculptures; a body stretched in the air leads to our figurative sculptures, and colourless resin polished and rough joins our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
