Clear Frozen Top Black Sculpted Leg Dining Table - 220cm $16,80900
Description

This dining table sets a machined clear top on a matt black fibreglass base. The top is clear resin with a heavily frozen surface and a scalloped irregular edge, and it is carried on a sculpted base of tapering black legs, one of them looped back under the table rather than running to the floor. The base is drawn as a single gesture and the top sits on it without a visible fixing.

A Frozen Sheet Over a Black Sculpted Base

The top is machined from a solid block of high-clarity resin, with the frozen ripple cut across its upper face and the scalloped edge cut to its outline and then polished. The base is built up in fibreglass and finished matt black, so it takes no reflection and the clear top above it is not repeated in it. The looped leg is the difficult part of the base: it carries no load and has to be true anyway, because it is the first thing anyone looks at. The top is bedded onto the base across its whole contact rather than at points, so nothing bears on a single spot of resin.

It seats six to eight, so the room has to leave a clear pass down both long sides. The base is not symmetrical, so it is worth deciding which side faces the room before it is set down, and the matt black legs let it stand on a busy floor without competing with it. The top overhangs the base at both ends, so a chair can be pushed in anywhere along the sides.

The Legs, the Scalloped Edge, and Setting It Level

Order a standard piece and it takes 3–4 weeks; order it bespoke and it takes 5–6. Most of it is the sculpted base. You settle three things. The base is offered in a gloss finish, the number of legs can be changed, and the scalloped edge can be run plain where a quieter top is wanted. The top length and the overall height are open figures. For a matching group, the sweep of the black legs is set once and carried through it. The crate is built so nothing touches the scalloped top edge and the looped leg; four people take it from there. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A black fibreglass base that loops back on itself under a machined clear top joins our fibreglass sculptures; as dining furniture it also sits with our art furniture and our contemporary and modern sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
