This bench is a single continuous ribbon of clear resin, glossy on every face and bent into a squared S: a long flat seat over a wide arch at one end, then folding down into a narrow U and back up at the other. There is no joint anywhere on it and no separate leg - the folds are the structure.
The ribbon is formed in one piece and the two folds are set at their radius in the mould, so the section stays even round both of them - which is the difficult part, because a fold that thins on its outside face will show as a bright line. Every surface is polished, the inner faces of the folds included, and the seat face is worked last so its flat is not lost while the folds are being brought up. The two feet are finished flat and brought to one plane, because a bench on two folds rocks on any error a four-legged one would absorb.
A hallway, a bedroom or a broad landing suits it. The arch at one end and the U at the other give it a front and a back worth deciding, and the folds leave the floor visible underneath, which keeps it from reading as a block. The seat is flat for its whole span, so a cushion sits on it without sliding.
It takes 3–4 weeks to make as standard, and 5–6 weeks to make bespoke. Most of it is the folded ribbon. Three of its features are open. The fold radius is drawn to order, a colour can be taken through the whole ribbon, and the seat is made longer between the folds where more than two are to sit. Tell us the seat length and the seat height. Nothing holds the radius of each fold between separate orders. It is crated round the two outer folds and the seat face and needs two people to walk it into place. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
One clear ribbon folded twice belongs with our geometric sculptures; as a bench it joins our art furniture, and the casting our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
