Every part of this tub armchair is left colourless, so its only colour is whatever the room lends it. The back curls forward on each side into rolled arms, and fine ribs run from that rolled rim straight down past the seat to the floor. Below the seat the shell continues as a skirt, cut away at the front in a broad, shallow arch, and its two front corners make the feet.
With no tint to read by, the flutes carry the whole design. Each rib catches its own thin line of highlight, and set this close together they make the shell look finely grained, the lines bending over the rolled rim at the top and running dead straight down the skirt. Only the seat is left plain, a rounded dish sunk into the shell with no ribbing across it, and through it the ribs behind and below show as a soft blur. The rolled rim reads as a bright, glassy edge running round the whole top of the chair.
At 82cm it suits a bedroom corner, a dressing area or a quiet end of a sitting room, and being colourless it barely interrupts the view across the room. Against white walls and a pale floor it all but disappears; put it in front of a coloured wall or over a patterned rug and the ribs pick that colour up in fine stripes. A lamp to one side brings the fluting out far better than a light directly overhead. Indoor use only.
Order a standard piece and it takes 3–4 weeks; order it bespoke and it takes 5–6. It is supplied colourless, and a tint can be added at order, either even throughout or graded towards the floor. The ribs can be spaced wider for a bolder stripe, and the skirt can be cast smooth while the back and arms keep their fluting. A loose pad in wool or leather, cut to fit the dish, makes the seat comfortable for longer sitting. The chair cannot be taken apart, so measure doorways against the width across its arms before ordering. It is crated upright on a pallet and needs two people to carry. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Our art furniture takes in seating such as this colourless ribbed armchair, while our resin sculptures share its clear casting and our indoor sculptures its scale.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
