Clear Flowing Side Cast Resin Drum Stool, 45cm, with vertical flow lines and an uneven crest rim, shown on a plain white background.
Clear Flowing Side Cast Resin Drum Stool - 45cm $4,92700
Description

This stool is a drum of upright proportion worked like falling water: strong vertical flow lines run the full height of the side, the rim is broken into an uneven crest, and the top is a frozen surface. Because the section is deeper here than it is wide, the flow lines gather and the piece carries more light down its length.

Flow Lines Running the Height of a Drum

The flow lines are drawn in the mould and run the full height without losing their pitch where the drum narrows towards the foot. Because this one is deeper than it is wide, the material has further to travel and the fill is the slow part of the build. The crest at the rim is worked back by hand afterwards so that no point on it is sharp enough to catch, and the top face is brought to a separate flat finish so it reads as a surface rather than as more flow.

At 45cm this is a stool at seat height and will take an adult, and it works equally as a drinks table beside a chair. Put it where light can come through it: against a window or a lit wall the flow lines carry the light down the drum, and in a shaded corner they close up. The side draws in from the crested rim to a rounded foot, so the stool looks lighter where it meets the floor than at the top.

The Crested Rim, the Flow, and Ordering More

Build times separate standard from bespoke: 3–4 weeks against 5–6. The vertical rippling is the slow part. There are three decisions. The pitch of the flow can be opened up or closed down, the crest at the rim can be eased to a plain edge, and a tint can be put through the resin. Neither the drum diameter nor the seat height is fixed. Order more than one together and the pitch of the flow down the side is matched across them. The crate is built around the crested rim and the drum foot, and one person should carry it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Our art furniture takes in this drum stool, its clear side streaming with flow lines down to the foot, and the crested rim leads on to our contemporary and modern sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
