Clear Faceted Stag Cast Resin Sculpture - 130cm, a standing deer with faceted body and smooth antlers, shown against a plain white background.
Clear Faceted Stag Cast Resin Sculpture - 130cm $14,78300
Description

A faceted stag in clear resin, this sculpture stands on all four legs with the head up and the rack carried clear above it. Its body is not modelled: the flanks, the haunches, the neck and the legs are all cut into large flat facets meeting at hard edges, so what you see is dozens of small bright planes rather than a continuous surface. The antlers alone are left smooth. Everything is clear resin, polished on every face.

A Body Read as Reflections Rather Than Form

A faceted clear animal is read almost entirely as reflection. Each plane returns its own piece of the room, so the form is assembled by the eye out of forty or fifty separate images and the arrises between them are the only lines the piece owns. That puts the whole standard on the edges: an arris that is a fraction soft returns a smear instead of a line and the facet next to it stops reading as flat. Every one is therefore dressed sharp and polished right up to the meeting point, which is slow because a polish naturally rounds an edge and has to be worked against. The antlers are left smooth deliberately - a faceted rack would compete with the body and the animal would lose its head.

This one needs something worth reflecting. In front of planting, a bookcase or a window the facets fill with colour and the animal comes alive; against a flat pale wall they all return the same white and the piece goes quiet. At a hundred and thirty this is a floor piece: a hall, a stair well, the open part of a large room, with clearance overhead for the rack. Moving light suits it best, so a window is better than a fixed spot.

Facet Size, Colour and Bringing It Through

Delivery follows a 3–4 week build as standard, or a 5–6 week build if bespoke. Facet size is decided at order, from these broad planes to a finer cut closer to a modelled animal, and the antlers can be faceted to match if that is wanted. The body will take an amber, a smoke or a soft green, and a frosted finish turns the facets from mirrors into panels, which is a different object. Rack size is open, and a hind without antlers can be cut from this body. Heights above and below this are cut to order. Body and rack travel apart in one crate and seat by hand; two people should stand the animal up. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A stag built from flat polished planes belongs with our deer statues; smooth antlers over an angular body lead to our animal sculptures, and clear planes that mirror the room join our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
