Clear Faceted Giraffe Cast Resin Sculpture, 270cm, standing with legs square and head turned slightly, faceted surface on integral base pads, plain white background.
Clear Faceted Giraffe Cast Resin Sculpture - 270cm $34,29300
Description

At full length and full height, the giraffe in this cast resin sculpture sets its four legs square, the neck up and the head turned very slightly out. The surface is cut into shallow facets over the whole animal, so the light breaks across it instead of sliding, and the material is solid rather than hollow. It stands on two integral pads that spread where the feet meet the floor.

A Solid Cast Carried Its Whole Height

Solid material at this scale changes every decision. A hollow animal of the same size would be a shell to be handled with care; this one is a block to be handled with equipment, and the facets are what make that readable - a smooth surface on something this large loses its scale entirely, while facets give the eye something to measure against. The neck is where the work concentrates. It is a long unsupported run carrying a heavy head, so its section is set by what the head weighs and then disguised in the facet pattern, which is cut coarser at the base of the neck and finer toward the skull so the taper reads as intended rather than as a compromise.

At 270cm it needs a room that can take it: an atrium, a tall entrance, the well of a staircase or a large open floor. Measure the doorways and the ceiling first, and the turn on any stair it has to pass. It reads from the front and from a distance; close up it becomes a wall of facets. Against a window the whole animal fills with daylight and the facets separate, and against a dark wall it draws itself in outline. It needs level floor and space to be walked right round.

Scale, Colour and Getting It In

Bespoke commissions take 5–6 weeks; standard pieces take 3–4. Facet size is settled at order, coarser for a stronger break or finer for something quieter, and a smooth polished animal is made from the same design. The resin takes a smoke, an amber or a green at this scale, and a frosted finish is offered. Heights run from a table giraffe upward, and the neck can be shortened toward a young animal's proportion. It arrives in two crates, the body and the neck cased separately and joined on site; a level floor and a clear route in are wanted before it comes. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A giraffe at its full height belongs with our giraffe statues; a body broken into shallow facets leads to our animal sculptures, and a solid clear casting this large joins our contemporary and modern sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
