Clear Etched Lit Cylinder Resin Sculpture - 141cm, a tall acrylic cylinder with white etched number motifs and gold-rimmed top and base, shown on a plain white background.
Clear Etched Lit Cylinder Resin Sculpture - 141cm $6,34800
Description

A tall cylinder of clear resin, its wall etched from top to foot with a repeated motif in flowing white strokes that overlap and turn in different directions. A broad band of polished gold colour rings the top, standing proud of the wall, and a narrow one finishes the foot. The cylinder lights, so after dark the etching glows white against the clear wall.

An Etched Pattern Over a Clear Column

Etching suits a clear material because it turns the surface white wherever it is cut, so the motif reads as frost drawn on glass. Repeated and overlapped at different angles, it becomes a texture rather than a picture, dense enough to read from across a room and open enough to show the far side of the cylinder through the gaps. The heavy band at the top gives the column a capital and a finish, and the slim one at the foot keeps it from looking cut off.

At 141cm it stands at a height to meet the eye in a reception area, a hotel lobby or the corner of a long room. A pair either side of an entrance makes a ceremonial welcome that glows after dark, and against a dark wall the etched white shows clearly. It also stands well alone in the corner of a dining room, where the gold bands pick up the glassware on the table.

Etching to Order and the Gold Bands

Expect 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks where the commission is bespoke. The etched pattern can be replaced with a motif of your own, a monogram, a botanical drawing or a geometric repeat, and it can be cut more densely or opened up. The bands can be finished in silver, black or brushed bronze. Being tall, it travels crated and upright with the bands wrapped, and it should be set in place by two people. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A clear column etched with a flowing pattern belongs with our resin sculptures; a cylinder banded in gold that lights suits our contemporary and modern sculptures, and a column to mark a doorway joins our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
