Seen from one side this resin sculpture is a face: a brow, a nose, a mouth and a chin, cut cleanly along a single edge. Move round it and the likeness goes, because the rest of the mass is not a head at all but a run of folds and ridges that happen to end at that profile. Nothing is modelled behind the face. It is optically clear throughout, which is what lets the folds behind the profile show through it.
A one-sided likeness is a drawing problem before it is a sculpting one. The profile has to be right as an outline, because it is the only place the piece is representational, and an outline that is fractionally wrong at the nose looks wrong from across a room while a badly modelled cheek would not. Behind it the folds are worked freely, but they have to arrive at the profile edge without contradicting it: a ridge that runs into the jaw from behind reads as a fault in the face. The profile edge itself is polished to a finer grade than anything else on the piece.
This wants to be approached from its own side, which makes it a piece for a surface people come at from one direction: a desk facing into a room, a console against a wall, a shelf at eye height. Set it so the profile faces the way people arrive and it reads as a portrait; set it square to the room and it reads as an abstract mass, which is also a legitimate choice. A dark ground behind it is what makes the folds visible through the face.
Figure the difference between standard and bespoke at 3–4 weeks against 5–6. Which side carries the profile is set at order, and so is the profile itself - it can be worked from a portrait you supply, or left to us. The folds behind it can be worked deeper for a more abstract mass or quieted so the head reads more conventionally. A tint runs through the piece in a smoke, an amber or a green, and a frosted finish is offered. Size is cut to order. It arrives boxed and sleeved as a one-person carry, and it stands on a flat surface without a mount. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A face that appears from a single viewpoint belongs with our abstract sculptures; folds running out to a profile lead to our resin sculptures, and a clear head to keep in a study joins our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
