Description

This round display plinth is a hollow tube of clear acrylic capped with a black top, whose deep band wraps the upper part of the tube and whose surface is finely textured, and it is made to show a single piece. The clear body almost disappears, so whatever stands on the black top seems to hover above the floor. Seen from the side, the black band reads as a solid drum floating on a column of air.

A Clear Column Under a Black Top

The contrast between the clear tube and the black top is the whole design: the body is there but barely seen, and the top is solid and dark, a firm ground for a piece. Its fine texture takes the light softly rather than throwing it back, and its black gives a light-coloured object a strong setting. The tube is plain, with no seams or fixings to catch the eye, and its round plan lets it stand anywhere without a front or a back. Nothing about it competes with the piece it carries, which is the whole job of a plinth.

At 64cm it suits a shop, a gallery, a showroom or a home, wherever a single vase, bowl or small sculpture needs lifting to the height of a table or a little above. A group at different heights makes a display of several pieces. On a dark floor the clear tube vanishes almost completely; light from above falls on the black top and the piece standing on it.

Height, Top and Ordering a Group

Allow 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. Other heights and diameters are possible, the top can be white, gold-toned or clear instead of black, and a set can be ordered at graded heights. A white top gives a lighter, gallery look, and a gold-toned one a more formal, jewellery-shop feel. The plinth can be moved whenever a display changes, taken in both hands round the tube, and it reads the same from every side wherever it is set down. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
