Clear Cobra Base Glass Top Cast Resin Side Table, 45cm, with three clear resin cobras supporting a round glass top on a stepped round base, shown on a plain white background.
Clear Cobra Base Glass Top Cast Resin Side Table - 45cm $5,60200
Description

In this side table a round glass disc rests on the heads of three clear resin cobras, hoods flared and bodies scaled, which rise from a round stepped resin plinth with a twisted rope moulding round its edge. From above, the cobras show through the glass; from the side, they stand in full view.

Three Cobras Carrying a Glass Disc

Each cobra is modelled and cast separately, then the three are trued to one another on the plinth before the glass goes anywhere near them - which is the whole difficulty, because three heads at slightly different heights would rock the disc and show at once. The scales are worked into the mould and the hoods are polished inside as well as out, since a clear figure is read from behind. The rope moulding round the plinth is turned and holds its pitch the whole way round. The three heads are faced level to a common plane and the glass is bedded on all three at once.

At 45cm it sits by the arm of a chair, its glass letting the cobras be seen from above as well as through the side. The cobras need light reaching them from the side to be read at all: a downlight puts the glass in the way and leaves the base in shadow. It bears on a broad plinth, which suits a soft floor better than three points would.

The Hoods, the Glass, and Ordering a Pair

Most pieces are standard and take 3–4 weeks; a bespoke commission takes 5–6. Its three open properties are yours. The cobra count can go to two or four, the glass is offered tinted or in a thicker section, and the rope moulding on the plinth can be left off. Both the top diameter and the plinth height are yours to set. Order more than one together and the set of the three hoods is matched across them. Crated with the glass rim and the three hoods protected, it is a two-person lift. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

The steel ring round its glass disc places this cobra table with our stainless steel sculptures and metal sculptures; holding a glass by a reading chair, the cobras earn it a place among our art furniture.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.

Questions Before You Order?
