This acrylic bench is one long, thick slab of clear material at an easy sitting height. Both long sides are worked to a coarse chopped face that runs the whole length, so seen from the end the seat reads as a block of broken ice and seen from above it is a flat polished plane. Two polished metal plates set well inboard carry it, which leaves a long reach of slab unsupported at each end.
Its length is the constraint on everything else. A slab this long wants to be worked in one setting, because a chopped face taken up in two sessions shows a change of rhythm where the two meet - the ridges land at a different spacing and the eye finds the seam from across a room. The cut is therefore run end to end in a single pass down each side, with the slab supported along its whole length so it cannot flex away from the tool. The upper face is flatted afterwards and brought to clear, which is what sets up the contrast with the sides. The two plates are dressed on all faces and trued together, since a plate even slightly out of parallel shows as a tilt at the far end of so long a seat.
A bench this long needs a wall to run beside - a long hall, the space under a window, the end of a big bedroom - and it will look stranded anywhere short of that. It is a comfortable seat and low enough to serve as a surface. Its modest depth keeps it out of a corridor's traffic. Set it where light rakes along its length rather than straight at it: raking light picks out every ridge on the chopped sides, and frontal light flattens the whole thing to a plain band of clear material.
From order, a standard piece runs to 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission to 5–6. The slab is available at a lighter section if this depth is more than the room needs, and the chopped faces can be run coarser or left square. The plates come brushed as an alternative to polished, and they can be moved out toward the ends. Length is the practical issue: a slab like this cannot be swung round a half-landing or carried up a dog-leg stair, so measure the route first. The slab travels on its flat with the chopped faces sleeved and the plates crated beside it; the two bolt together from beneath in one operation. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A slab chopped like broken ice belongs with our acrylic sculptures; polished plates set well inboard lead to our geometric sculptures, and a long seat beneath a window joins our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
