Clear Branch Back Amber Seat Cast Resin Armchair, 72cm, with clear resin frame, branch-form open back, twig-embedded legs, and amber seat pad on a plain white background.
Clear Branch Back Amber Seat Cast Resin Armchair - 72cm $4,25200
Description

A crest rail curves round from the back of this armchair to become both of its arms. The frame is clear resin and its back rail is an openwork tangle of branch forms, with chunky arms and four legs, and inside each leg a dark twig is suspended in the material. An amber upholstered pad sits in the seat frame.

A Back Rail Tangled Out of Branches

The twigs are set in position and the resin is poured round them, so none floats out of place and the material closes over each one without a seam. The back rail is cast with all its openings clear, and each one is then polished through its full depth from both sides, which is the long part of the build. The arms are blocked square and worked back by hand, and the pad is built to the finished frame. The seat frame is finished on its inner faces as well, because the pad sits down inside it and the resin is read round all four sides.

At 72cm to the top of the rail this is a dining or an occasional armchair, and the twigs in the legs are what decide where it goes: they are readable from standing height and invisible from a seated one, so it belongs where it is walked past as well as sat in. The arms clear a standard table apron, so it can be run in rather than left standing out from the edge.

The Twigs, the Pad, and Choosing What Goes Inside

Time separates the two: a bespoke commission takes 5–6 weeks, a standard piece 3–4. The branch back rail is the slow part. Three decisions sit with you. What goes inside the legs is yours to name, the pad is made up in a fabric of your choosing, and the back rail can be worked denser or more open. Tell us the seat width and the back height. Both pieces of a pair share which twig sits inside each leg when they are ordered together. Nothing bears on the branch rail and the four twig legs in transit, and two people are enough to place it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Branches tangled into the back rail and twigs held in the legs bring this armchair into our art furniture; the amber seat on its clear frame also suits our contemporary and modern sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
