Clear Bowl Top Fluted Cone Cast Resin Stool, 43cm, with mirrored bowl top and ribbed cone base, shown against a plain white background.
Clear Bowl Top Fluted Cone Cast Resin Stool - 43cm $4,25200
Description

A thick clear resin bowl, rounded beneath like half a sphere and dished across the top, sits on a flaring cone ribbed all over with fine flutes, which gives the stool the look of an oversized goblet. The bowl is the working surface and the flutes are the whole of the base: there is no foot, no plate and nothing else under it.

A Bowl Set on a Finely Fluted Cone

The bowl and the cone are cast as one form and the join between them is taken back until nothing reads as a line. The flutes are turned into the mould, so they run true round the cone and hold their pitch as it flares, which is the difficult part: a flute that opens up as the diameter grows shows immediately against its neighbours. The inside of the dish is taken to the same mirror as the outer face, and it is where a fault shows first, because a bowl at this height is looked down into from every position in the room.

At 43cm this is a stool at seat height, and the dished top means a bowl or a tray sits in it rather than on it. The fluted cone is narrower at the foot than the bowl is across, so it needs a hard floor rather than a deep pile that would let the foot settle unevenly. The cone is the whole of the base, so it can go close in to a chair without a leg fouling anything.

The Flutes, the Bowl Depth, and Where It Sits

The standard build is 3–4 weeks and the bespoke build 5–6. Most of it is the fluted cone. Three choices are open. The flute pitch is open, the bowl can be made deeper or brought almost flat, and the cone can be supplied tinted while the bowl stays clear. Bowl diameter and cone height are quoted to your own figures. Ask for several together if the depth of the bowl needs to agree between them. Packed with the bowl lip and the fluted cone shielded, it needs one person at the door. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A thick clear bowl set on a fluted cone links this stool with our geometric sculptures and our art furniture, and its goblet outline suits our contemporary and modern sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
