Clear Arched Abstract Resin Sculpture - 173cm by Giant Sculptures, a twisting translucent arch form on a black plinth base, shown against a plain white background.
Clear Arched Abstract Resin Sculpture - 173cm $6,68200
Description

An arched upright in clear cast resin, the fin and the flare of the design drawn out across the arch. There is no pigment in it at all; the arch borrows its tone from the room behind it and its edges from the light. A black plinth is supplied, and the piece stands on it on the whole splay of its foot.

An Arch With No Colour of Its Own

Doubly curved and polished on every face, the arch has no flat anywhere, so its edges gather the light into bright lines while the body between them stays pale. A colourless casting at this size has to come out free of cloud from foot to fin, because in clear resin any flaw shows at once, and that is the whole difficulty of the piece. The fin and the flare are drawn thin, which keeps the outline light for so large a form. Polished everywhere, including the inside of the flare where very little of it will ever be seen.

An entrance hall or the end of a long gallery. It needs space more than it needs height, and a plain, darker wall behind it so the edges of the arch have something to read against. Side light suits it best, running along the fin and the flare; flat, even light leaves a colourless body grey. From a long way off it is a bright outline, and the fin and the flare only separate as you come closer.

Opening the Arch, a Tint, and a Pale Plinth

Whether it is standard or bespoke sets the build: 3–4 weeks or 5–6. The arch is opened further, a tint is carried through the body, and pale stone is cut for the plinth. Open the arch and the plinth is deepened, because the piece already reaches well past its own footprint. Plinth and casting arrive on separate pallets and are married on site. The casting is kept wrapped until the rest of the work is done. Two people at least, gloved, and the flare is not a handhold. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Arched and swept forms for a gallery or an entrance continue in our indoor sculptures, and more colourless castings of this kind are found in our contemporary and modern sculptures and our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
