Clear & Gold Arched Resin Stool - 60cm with a saddle-shaped seat and splayed, tapering legs embedding dark twigs and gold leaves, shown on a plain white background.
Clear & Gold Arched Resin Stool - 60cm $3,10500
Description

A colourless cast stool with fine dark twigs and small gold leaves held in its legs. The legs splay outward from a saddle shaped seat and taper as they descend, so the whole object reads as one continuous arch rather than a top with supports beneath it, and on one side the seat rises into a high curved crest. The material is water clear and thick enough to distort whatever is behind it. The twigs branch down through the legs towards the feet with their leaves, and a few stray leaves are caught higher up, in the seat.

One Continuous Arch, With Gold Caught in the Legs

There is no joint anywhere in this piece and no separate seat. The form is a single surface that rises from its feet, gathers at the middle and dishes slightly to sit on, so the legs read as a springing arch rather than as separate members standing under a top. Because the material is colourless the arch reads unevenly across its own length: the high crest gathers the brightest highlights, and the feet are almost invisible against a pale floor. The gold comes as small leaves on fine dark twigs, gathered down near the feet with a few strays up in the seat, so it clusters in some places and thins to nothing in others. Held against a window the leaves catch the light and the twigs go dark. Turned away from the light the gold disappears and the arch reads as pure line. No two castings place the twigs alike.

At 60cm this stands above seat height, so it works as a perch at a breakfast bar, as a stand for a plant or a lamp in a bay, or as an occasional piece at the end of a hall where the arch can be seen through. It wants space behind it rather than against a wall, because the whole point of a colourless object is what it does to the background. On a pale floor it almost vanishes and only the gold reads; on a dark one the arch draws itself in bright line. Indoors only.

Where the Gold Sits, and How Far the Legs Splay

Build times separate standard from bespoke: 3–4 weeks against 5–6. Two things are open at order. The inclusions: twigs with gold leaves as here, silver or copper leaves instead, or none at all for a completely colourless arch. And the splay of the legs, which sets the footprint and the feel in equal measure, since a wider stance reads as a bench form and a narrow one as a column. Both the height and the plan are cut to your own figures. One crate holds the whole stool, there is nothing to put together on arrival, and two people should set it down. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

An arch you can sit on, this stool is one for our art furniture; its clear, continuous line suits our abstract sculptures, and its twig-filled casting our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
