Description

The Clear Acrylic Slab Bench on Polished Steel Legs is a three-metre bench built on a single 8cm section of clear acrylic, carried on two mirror-polished stainless steel legs, silver against the clear slab, set inboard of each end. The slab is clear through its full thickness, so the seat reads as one horizontal line of light with the steel doing all the visible work beneath it.

Three-Metre Clear Acrylic Slab on Polished Steel

The seat of this clear acrylic bench is cut from one solid section, not laminated from sheets, which is what allows a three-metre span with no centre support. Every cut face is flame-polished back to full clarity so the slab has no milky border and the edge disappears into the body. The legs are folded from stainless plate, mirror-polished by hand through successive grades, and bonded into rebates cut into the underside so no fixing is visible from any angle. Because acrylic is polished rather than moulded, the grain of the polish differs on every piece.

Seat height is 40cm, which suits a hallway, a gallery or showroom, a reception area, a dressing room or the foot of a bed. It works along a run of wall where a solid bench would close the space down, because you can see the floor through the seat. It pairs with pale oak, polished concrete, plaster and stone, and with dark panelling where the clear slab keeps the wall visible. Indoor use only.

Door and Stair Measurements for a Three-Metre Slab

Production takes approximately eight to ten weeks from order, and the polish stage is the part that cannot be hurried. Alternative spans, alternative slab sections and alternative leg finishes are all offered, including brushed rather than mirror stainless, and blackened steel. A matching low table can be made on the same detail. Because a three-metre slab is a two-person lift and will not corner tightly, we ask for door and stair measurements before despatch, and the piece ships in a purpose-built crate with the legs detached. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
