Clear Acrylic Low Table with Blue Wash on Panel Legs - 80cm $4,05000
Description

A thick disc of clear acrylic makes the top of this low table, held on two clear panels. The disc is thick enough to read as a section rather than a sheet, and across one side of it runs a blue wash - strongest at the rim and thinning as it reaches toward the middle, so roughly a third of the top is coloured and the rest is colourless. The two panels stand parallel and are themselves clear throughout.

A Blue Wash Across One Side of a Clear Disc

A wash that covers part of a disc has to be placed, and where it stops is the whole decision. The colour is cast into one region of the sheet and feathered out rather than cut off, so there is no line anywhere on the finished top - and because the disc is cut from that sheet afterwards, the position of the wash on the finished circle depends on where the circle is taken from. Cut it a hand's width over and the blue arrives at the centre instead of the rim. The disc's edge is polished all round, which lights the blue where the wash meets the rim and leaves the rest of the edge bright and colourless. The panels are cut from clear stock so nothing competes with the top.

It sits low even for a coffee table, which suits a room with low seating or a floor of cushions. The round top and the two parallel panels mean it reads differently from each side: square on you see two uprights, and from the diagonal you see almost nothing under the disc. Turn the washed side toward the room rather than the wall. Over a pale floor the blue casts a soft patch of colour beneath the table, which is much of the pleasure of it.

Where the Wash Falls, and Assembly

As standard the build runs 3–4 weeks, and as a bespoke commission 5–6. Where the wash falls on the disc is set with the order, as is the colour, and it can be run right across the top or left out for a fully clear table. The disc can be cut wider on the same panels. It arrives as a top and two panels which slot together and take the disc without fixings, so nothing needs tools and the table breaks down again if the room changes. The disc is the weight and wants two people; the panels are light. Both faces of the disc are filmed until it is in place, since a large clear surface shows every handling mark once it is lit. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A blue wash across one side of a disc belongs with our acrylic sculptures; two parallel panels under a clear top lead to our geometric sculptures, and a table for a floor of cushions joins our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
