A clear acrylic case stands on a marble base plate, and inside it are four blocks of about the same size but not the same make: three are charred timber, their surfaces left black and open-grained, and the fourth is woven from metal strip so it reads as a basket where the others read as solids. Each block carries its own dimensions, which is why they are listed one by one rather than as a set of four identical pieces.
Charring timber is a finish that cannot be repeated exactly, and that is the reason there are three of them rather than one: laid side by side, the differences between the three become the point instead of a fault. Each is taken to the same depth of char and then brushed back until the grain stands proud, which is what stops the black reading as paint. The woven block is made from strip bent round a form and closed at the corners, and it is sized to sit level with the timber three so the tops of all four read as one line under the case. The case itself is bonded at its corners and polished after bonding, so the joints are not the first thing you see through it.
A case of this length is a hall or a living room piece, and it wants to be approached from the front: the four blocks are arranged as a row and the row is what you are looking at. The marble base plate gives it a visual weight the acrylic does not, so it sits comfortably on a console or a low run of cabinets rather than on the floor. Light from above through the case is what separates the charred blocks from the woven one.
A standard piece takes 3–4 weeks to make, and a bespoke commission 5–6. Block count is set at order and the mix is yours: all four charred, all four woven, or any combination. The char can be taken to a deep black or brushed back to a grey, and the woven block is offered in this dark strip, a brass or a stainless one. The base plate comes in this marble or a darker stone, and the case can be made open at the back. Overall size is cut to order. Case, blocks and base plate travel in separate boxes and go together on site in a few minutes; the case is a two-person lift and the base plate is the heaviest single piece. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Three charred blocks and one woven belong with our acrylic sculptures; a basket woven from dark metal strip leads to our metal sculptures, and a long case for a run of low cabinets joins our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
