Two curved sheets meet down the middle of this acrylic table's base, and the seam where they join is left plainly visible rather than disguised. The whole of it is smoked brown acrylic. Each sheet is bent to a half-cone, so the base flares out toward the floor and reads as one tapered body from the front and as two separate curves from the side.
Making a seam a feature changes what has to be got right about it. Where a closed cone hides its joint, these two half-cones present theirs down the full height of the base, so the two curves must arrive at the centre line with the same radius - the slightest error on one of them and the seam wanders instead of running plumb. Each half is formed over the same drum and then checked against its partner rather than against a gauge, which is the only way to get two curves that agree. The meeting edges are brought up to a polish before assembly, since after it they are unreachable, and they are left a hair apart so the line reads as a drawn stroke rather than a glued butt. The smoke doubles where the curves overlap at the seam.
At 44cm this is a coffee-table height rather than a lamp height, so it belongs in front of a low sofa or beside a floor cushion. The top is generous for the height and takes a tray. Turn the seam to the side you look at least, or turn it to the front if you want the base to read as two pieces - it changes the table's whole character and costs nothing to try. It pairs naturally with the closed-cone table in this range, where one hides its joint and the other shows it.
Time separates the two: a bespoke commission takes 5–6 weeks, a standard piece 3–4. The smoke depth and the flare of the curves can both be specified, and the seam can be closed to a butt if you would rather not see it. The top is available cut square. It arrives as three pieces - two halves and a top - and the halves engage against one another before the top is set on, which means nothing wider than the top has to come through a doorway. One person manages each part. Each half travels standing and sleeved along its meeting edge, because that edge is polished and cannot be reworked once the base is together. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Two curved sheets meeting in a plain seam belong with our acrylic sculptures; half-cones that show their joint lead to our geometric sculptures, and a low table beside a floor cushion joins our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
