Brown Live Edge Timber & Clear Resin Dining Table, 230cm, with a live-edge wood top on two fluted trumpet legs, shown on a plain white background.
Brown Live Edge Timber & Clear Resin Dining Table - 230cm $18,90100
Description

A thick slab of dark red-brown figured timber with a live edge along its length is carried on two clear resin legs, each cast as a flaring fluted trumpet, one broad and one narrow. Both legs are hollow and stay glassy to the eye, so the heavy timber above seems to stand on nothing.

Two Trumpet Legs, One Broad and One Narrow

The timber is a single slab, dried and stabilised before the edge is cleaned back to sound wood and the face is flattened and finished. The two legs are cast hollow to a thin even wall, so the material sits in the surface where it is seen rather than in the middle where it is not, and the flutes are turned into the mould so they hold their pitch as the form flares. The two are deliberately unequal, and setting the slab level on legs of different girth is the last and slowest part of the work.

It seats eight, and it should stand where its two legs can be seen from all round, since their mismatch is what the table is about. The narrow leg stands under one end and the broad one further in, so the legroom is not symmetrical: it is worth deciding which side takes the head of the table.

The Timber, the Hollow Legs, and Delivery

Most pieces are standard and take 3–4 weeks; a bespoke commission takes 5–6. Most of it is the trumpet leg. Three things can change. The timber is chosen from what is in stock when the order is placed, the two legs can be made equal if you prefer, and the flute pitch is open. Slab length and leg spread are quoted to your own figures. Once the order is placed as one, the figure in the timber is carried through it. It is crated round the live timber edge and the two resin legs and needs four people to walk it into place. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Live-edge timber on two trumpet legs of clear resin makes a dining table for our art furniture; the fluted legs suit our contemporary and modern sculptures, and the table our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
