Brown & Cream Standing Figure Resin Sculpture, 119cm, abstract twisting form with head thrown back into a flared cup, on a black base, plain white background.
Brown & Cream Standing Figure Resin Sculpture - 119cm $2,56400
Description

The body of this standing figure rises through a turn and the head is thrown back into a cup that flares open above it. Amber and cream are drawn through the body together, and they are darkest along the edges where the two meet. A black block is included, and the figure rises from it on a narrow foot.

Two Tones Carried Round a Single Turn

Amber and cream are drawn onto opposite faces of the same body, which is what makes the turn legible without a line anywhere on it. Follow either colour from the foot and it disappears round the back at exactly the point the other arrives, and that is the whole of how the figure reads as moving. A body carrying two tones at once is why the figure reads as turning: the amber follows one face and the cream the other, so the twist is visible without a line anywhere. Polished over the whole figure, with the flared crown taken to the same grade so it shows no join.

It wants a hall console with room to be seen from both sides. Something pale behind it, since amber on a dark ground closes to one silhouette. Lit from behind the two tones separate; lit from the front they run together into one brown. It presents a different figure from every side, and the one it is turned to is the one the room reads.

A Fuller Crown, and What Travels Under the Figure

Whether it is standard or bespoke sets the build: 3–4 weeks or 5–6. We will draw the crown fuller, change how far the cream reaches, or set the figure at another height. Set it at another height and the flare is redrawn, since the cup at the top keeps its own width whatever the body does. A single tall crate, standing, with the block stowed beneath the figure. Two people: one steadies the crown while the other takes the block. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A figure with its head thrown back into a flared cup stands in our indoor sculptures; its turning pose suits our contemporary and modern sculptures, and the two-tone body joins our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
