Brown & Cream Draped Figure Resin Sculpture - 120cm
Brown & Cream Draped Figure Resin Sculpture - 120cm $2,49500
Description

The body of this draped figure falls in long folds from a crown that flares open above them. Amber through the body clearing to cream, with the crown the palest part of it. A round black base is in the price. The folds are drawn long and narrow, so the eye travels up the body to the crown in one movement.

Weight at the Foot and Almost Nothing at the Crown

A body that clears as it rises puts all of its apparent weight low down, because there is more to look through at the foot and almost nothing at the top. That is what lets a figure this tall read as lifting rather than standing, and it is done with one material and no change of section at all. Drapery drawn in a body that clears as it rises is what puts the weight at the foot: there is more to look through low down and almost nothing at the crown, so the figure lifts. Polished from the base to the crown, and the crown edge is left thin enough to read as cloth.

Floor work for a corner, or a hall table if the crown clears the eye. Something dark at its back, or the cream crown has nothing to be pale against. A source overhead is what the crown wants, and the amber beneath it is better left unlit. The outline carries; the folds arrive at about two paces.

A Fuller Crown, Another Amber, and One Tall Crate

Allow 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. Ask us for a fuller crown, for the amber exchanged, or for the base cut in another stone. Widen the crown and the body is drawn heavier beneath it, since what is above the waist has to be answered below it. How far the cream reaches is settled at the drawing. One tall crate, upright, and nothing to assemble. Two people for the lift, one at the base and one at the waist. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Drapery falling from a flared cream crown stands in our indoor sculptures; its draped figure suits our contemporary and modern sculptures, and its amber body belongs with our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
