A long low block with a hammered, bronze-toned finish runs the length of this bench, and set into it towards one end is a section of clear resin with a light fitted inside. Unlit, the resin shows dark fragments caught within it; lit, it glows a warm orange from the inside out. The whole block sits on a shallow recessed base, so it seems to float just clear of the floor.
The body is fibreglass, worked to a hammered surface and finished in a dark bronze tone that catches light on every dent, and it is broken once along its length by a block of clear resin set flush with the top and the front. Inside that resin sit dark fragments at different depths, and a light fitting is set within it, its lead leaving at the foot. Lit, the resin turns a warm glowing orange and the fragments stand out against it; unlit, it reads as clear resin against the dark body. A recessed base under the whole length keeps a shadow line at the floor.
It sits at bench height along a hall, a gallery wall or a reception area, and it needs a socket within reach of the end its lead leaves from. The light is the reason to place it where evenings are spent; in a bright room by day it reads as a dark bench with a clear inset. Indoor use only.
Order a standard piece and it takes 3–4 weeks; order it bespoke and it takes 5–6. The light can be specified warm or cool and set on a dimmer, and the resin section can be moved along the block or repeated at the other end. The body can be finished in a darker or a brighter metallic tone, or in a plain matt colour. The light is fitted and tested at the workshop before crating, and a qualified electrician should make the connection on site. The bench travels in a purpose-built crate and needs four people to place it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A glowing resin inset in a hammered bronze-toned block belongs with our contemporary and modern sculptures; the fibreglass body relates it to our fibreglass sculptures, and set along a gallery wall it belongs to our art furniture.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
