Description

This sculpture is an upright box of acrylic board in a clear cyan-blue tint, square on plan and closed by a flat top panel. Because the board is translucent, each face carries a second, softer square of blue, the face opposite it seen from the other side, and where the two overlap the colour deepens. The four vertical edges catch the light as thin bright rules, the one detail on an otherwise plain form. Two thicknesses of board are offered for it, each at its own price.

An Upright Box That Changes as You Walk Round

Its interest lies in how much it alters with the angle it is seen from. Face-on it is a flat panel of blue framed by the faint outline of the wall behind; turned to a corner, two faces fold back from one bright edge and the blue gathers in the depth of the box, darker where the far walls line up behind the near ones. The tint is even across every face, so the colour never pools in one place, and the flush top keeps the outline square when the box is seen from above. This is a geometry piece more than a colour piece: the square plan and the upright proportion are the whole of the design.

At 70cm it stands well in a reception area, on a landing or at the foot of a staircase, where people walk round it and see it change. A window behind it or a lamp at one side brings the blue up and lights the edges; against a dark wall it turns sombre and the corners carry the shape on their own. Stand it on a hard floor rather than a deep carpet, which can tip so plain a box visibly out of square.

Thickness, Colour and Carrying It

Ordinarily a standard piece needs 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. Two board thicknesses are offered, standard and heavy, and each is priced separately in the options. The tint can be commissioned in another colour, a smoke grey, a green or plain clear board among them, and the box can be redrawn as a cube or turned on its side as a slab. Ordered in twos or threes, it can be set out as a line of blue blocks along a wall. Carry it upright with both palms flat against opposite faces; a corner or the top edge should never take its weight. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
