Blue Tiled Splash Cast Resin Sculpture - 82cm
Blue Tiled Splash Cast Resin Sculpture - 82cm $5,88800
Description

A cast resin sculpture that rises as a column, widens at its shoulders and breaks at the top into three points of different heights: two rounded lobes rising high and a low mound between them. Every surface of it is built from small flat tiles laid in courses like brickwork, with each tile's end left standing proud of the one beside it, so there is no smooth face anywhere: the whole object is a field of little rectangles catching separate highlights. The tiles are a pale blue, paling almost to white over the lobes and the mound, and the proud tile ends read as white where the light hits them. It stands on a round disc of deep blue.

Tile Ends Left Standing Proud

Building a curved form out of flat tiles means the courses cannot simply be stacked: each one has to follow the round of the column, and the offsets between courses are staggered deliberately rather than left to fall where they will. That stagger is what stops the eye finding a vertical seam running up the piece. Where the form breaks into its three points the courses have to split and continue independently, which is the passage that decides whether the three read as one gesture or as three separate objects. The proud ends stand out by differing amounts, so the outline steps in and out instead of running as a smooth line, and every step catches a highlight of its own.

At 82cm, tall and narrow, it fits places a broad piece cannot: a hall console, a pier between two windows, the corner of a landing, or the top of a low bookcase where its full height is clear of anything above. It should have room over it. A shelf close above the three points ruins the gesture. Light from the side is what the tiled surface is for, since it turns every proud end into its own highlight and the whole piece begins to sparkle; overhead light finds the tops of the courses only and the form goes flat. It reads best against a plain dark wall, where the pale blue lifts.

Tiles, Height and Lifting It

Expect 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks where the commission is bespoke. The tile size, the height and the number of points are all drawn per piece, so a broader form with a single crest or a high one with five points are both available from this construction. Colour runs to order in this pale blue, a green, an amber or a colourless body where the tiling alone does the work. Sizes run up to pieces made for a stair well. It is lifted around the body of the column with both hands, never by one of its points. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A field of small tiles resolving into one gesture is abstract sculpture, the tiles are cast, which is resin sculpture, and the joints stay tight in the conditions indoor sculpture expects.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
