This cast resin sculpture is a humpback whale in a translucent blue that deepens along the back and clears almost to nothing under the belly. The flippers are long and swept back, the tail flukes turn up at the tips, and the body is smooth with no surface detail at all. Two small fixed eyes are set into the back, one forward and one aft, so the animal hangs from a pair of lines rather than standing on a surface.
Where the two eyes go decides everything about how the animal hangs, and there is no adjusting them afterwards. They are set by hanging the finished whale on a temporary pair of lines and moving the points until it sits level and slightly nose-down, which is how the animal reads as swimming rather than as an object on a string. The colour is the other half of the job. It runs from a deep blue along the spine to almost nothing at the belly, and the change has to happen inside a body that is only a few centimetres deep, so the grade is laid in as the piece is built up rather than applied to the surface. A whale of this size hung against a window is mostly read as colour and outline.
This is made to hang, and it wants air around it: over a stair well, in a window, above a cot or a desk, or as two and three hung at staggered heights. Hang it where light comes through rather than onto it, because the blue is in the material and a lit background turns the whole animal into a lantern. It is light enough to hang from a single picture hook. Keep it out of a doorway where a head can meet it, and leave enough line for it to turn slowly in a draught.
Build times separate standard from bespoke: 3–4 weeks against 5–6. Colour is settled at order in this blue, in a green, in an amber or in a colourless body, or as a solid opaque animal where it should read as an outline. The fixings are made as these two eyes, as a single point for a nose-down hang, or left off entirely for a piece that sits on a surface. Three or five can be hung together as a pod, each cut to its own size. It arrives boxed with the flippers and flukes supported, the lines coiled separately, and nothing to assemble; handle it by the body and never by a flipper. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A humpback hung level from two lines belongs with our animal sculptures; flippers swept long and back lead to our contemporary and modern sculptures, and blue clearing to nothing at the belly joins our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
