The seat of this counter stool is one curved acrylic shell that rises at the back into a low support, and its colour runs the short way rather than the long way: deep blue along the top edge, paling as it comes down, and almost colourless where the shell meets the frame. Below it a black steel frame runs down as flat blades front and back and turns along the floor, with a footrail across the front.
Running a grade across the short dimension of a shell puts the whole colour change inside a very short distance, so the transition has to be smooth over a very short run or it reads as two colours meeting. The shell is also curved through that same distance, which means the eye sees the grade compressed at the top of the curve and stretched at the bottom, and the colour is set out to allow for that rather than measured flat. The frame is coated matt black so it takes no highlight and leaves the shell to do the work, and its blades are wide in the plane you see and narrow in the plane you do not.
At 85cm it suits a kitchen island or a breakfast bar rather than a full bar, so check the counter before ordering. The low back makes it a stool people stay on. The blue is strongest along the top edge, which is the part seen from across a room, so the stool reads as a line of colour at counter level. Leave a hand's width between them: the frame reaches along the floor at front and back, so stools set only as far apart as their seats will meet down there.
Production takes approximately 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. Overall height is set to your counter, which is the one measurement worth confirming first. The grade can be reversed to put the blue at the bottom, and other colours are drawn from the same stock. The frame is offered in a polished finish, in white, or in a warmer metal. The footrail can be left off where the counter has a rail of its own. Every stool arrives built up, and one person can carry it. Where several are ordered the shells are cut in sequence from one sheet so the grade matches across the run, and they are numbered to keep the set together. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Blue along the top edge of a curved shell belongs with our acrylic sculptures; a black sled frame with a front footrail leads to our metal sculptures, and a perch at a breakfast bar joins our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
